Custom Drum

Due to lack of practise and don't wanna get nagged by the drum teacher Ice, Fungi last practiced with a custom practise drum set. So now we proudly shamelessly present you Fungi's 1st custom drum set.

Rigs Added

I went to POS KL last saturday to collect a guitar I bought from Ishibashi WebShop, Japan.


They really suprised me with how they handle my parcel.

Nah I didn't buy a Fender, they just simply used a box for my guitar.

1st of all, they wrapped my guitar with the 3 layers of bubble plastic wrapper. After that, they put my guitar into a box, and then wrapped the box with 3 layers of the bubble plastic wrapper again.


I really thank them for doing so, 'cause stupid workers at POS Malaysia there doesn't handle things with care. I saw them 'throw' my parcel on the moving belt very roughly. Luckily it doesn't hurt my guitar.

See? This is my new guitar, RG570bk.

Please excuse my not-rock-or-metal-at-all blanket and my messy bed.

Jam !!!!

A total number of 6 people, consists of Me, Fungi, KaHo, YingYung, Victor and Wilson went to Ice Music Paradise for a jamming session today. And it's the 1st altogether jamming session!


Fungi be the drummer as usual. But he sang too! It's "The Reason" from Hoobastank. What funny is the key is so high and Fungi voice couldn't really fit in then everytime when he sing the chorus he got out of tune.

It's like:
I've found out a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new
and the reason is You
And the parts with red highlights are the part Fungi sang out of tune. lol.


Yah I be the vocalist for a while, 'cause nobody knows to sing those songs. I wanna be the guitarist actually. =( Then Fungi didn't take the pic when I was playing guitar. *duh*

Overall it was fun, although it was a bit mess, but it was our 1st time afterall. I believe we could be better and better for the next time, and the next next time and the next next next time, and so on.

I got disqualified for the song composition competition. Guess I'll have to ganbatte and write somemore nicer cooler bombastic-er chiller song.

1st Time Screwed Up My Guitar

I was deciding to change my Squier's bridge single coil pickup to a humbucker, but then found out not worth it. Besides, Fungi keep on pouring cold water on me, saying things like: "no use, useless, makes no difference, waste money" so I cancelled my mind.

Maybe he's right. Perhaps I should just aim for a FENDER standard HSS strat instead.

Anyway, before I cancelled my mind, I screwed up my guitar and took some pics.


All stupid rusty screws. Should have change all earlier.


This is the internal part of my guitar. Lousy electronics I think. No idea.

Then FUCK IT I can't get my guitar back to how it was suppose to be. The screws all not balance and the pickguard looks weird. Argh.

NVM it.

1st Composed Song

The CLS (Chinese Language Society) in my college MMU has organized an activity, call Song Composition Competition.

I participated. I heard that any song that got into the finalist, the song writters can perform their own song at the stage. This is a good oportunity for Fungi and I to gain experience on stage. I wrote a song.

It was a chinese song. lol. I hardly listen to chinese songs and now I was composing a chinese song. What the hell. Rules stated that 70% of the lyrics has to be chinese. What to do. They're the organizers mah. Have to follow the rulez.

Now I'm waiting for the results. Hopefully can go through the 1st round and enter the finalist. Actually my song is rather common and ordinary, so if I fail, it won't be suprising.

Anyway, I must thank God for giving me ideas to accomplish my very 1st song.

Band Name Set (Moved)

You know a guitar freak like me and a drum+guitar freak like my bro formed a band, literally.

We aren't really a band yet 'cause we couldn't really properly play a song. But we were so crazy about band stuff and thought of a lot a lot of stupid band name. Like our previous temporary band name was Rotten Banana. It means we're rotten( terrible lifestyle, sleep at 6am and wake up 5min before lecture or tutorials ) banana ( hardly listen to chinese songs, though we're chinese ) .

Then my bro wanted to use I See Dead People as band name 'cause he thinks it's funny. I See Dead People is a dialog from Scary Movie 1, Shorty. At 1st I not really like it but I gradually became to like it, then suddenly saw a malay guy wearing a T with I SEE DEAD PEOPLE on it. So DOWN! Have to think of another one.

Then just now in the church listening to the boring preaching, our assholes are itching so we started to think of funny funny name, suddenly Fungi said how bout red potion? and I was like HEY! why not we use Black Potion? and Fungi agreed too!

New Guitar, New Amp (Moved)

My bro Fungi and I have bought a new guitar and a new amp from Woh Fatt, today.

When I was in the bus, I was damn frustrated. The bus was soooooo slow, and the engine sounded 'put put put put', as if it is like the 'putput car'. Orz. Normally it takes average 2 hours to reach KL, but this stupid bus took 2hours 40mins to reach there.

Well, let's have a look at the guitar.


It's a set neck Les Paul custom copy, SX branded. The original Gibson Les Paul cost RM11k!!! No way I'm gonna buy it. So I bought this for Fungi. I've seen quite a lot of reviews, and SX has the most bang-for-buck.


Mahogany body and neck, and rosewood fretboard. The shop gave us a strap, some picks, a bag, a cable for free. But actually everyone knows it's actually charged in. ;)


We bought an amp too! Peavey Blazer 158. ^^ Still learning how to tune and adjust the sound. What pre gain post gain vintage modern, no idea. -.-

Total Damage = RM1430

Yea yea finally it's done!


See? Whatsoever-brand amplifier, speaker and CD player with China-made drum and more-than-10-years-old guitar in a crampy but cozy bandroom. ( Fungi and I always not at home, so Bum, my youngest bro decorated it with all those secondary-schoolboy poster. lol )

A friend of my bro bought a new Ibanez and excitedly introduced it on his blog. Then a sudden thought, " ya hor! I haven't intro my guitar yet! "


Fender Squier, dunno mat mat chat stratocaster model. ( I hate the words on the top left )


It has an elegant pearl white body, with a couple of rusty screws on it. Yah, an old guitar, bought 11 years ago.

I want a new guitar!!!!

1st Jamming Session (Moved)

When everyone is in christmas mode, I'm busy for my finalz and assignments. That makes me the only one who doesn't have the christmas mode ( I think so ) . Orz

I was being a noob among them. Can't play even a simple song. Their are really cool, played a lots of songz very well. Enter Sandman, Chop Suey, Yellow, lots more!

I gotta practise more.

Ice Music Paradise Annual Concert 2006 (Moved)

Ice Music Paradise is where I learn guitar and my bro Fungi learn drum, own by a man, called Abang Ice, which means Big Brother Ice. Every year he will organize a concert for his music student to perform, and this performance has it's purpose.

Can you see what I've circled? It's the dress code , strictly formal ! Rock, metal and band music somehow gave people bad impression like drugs, stink and torn clothing, punk, bad words, yell like hell, and so on.

I personally don't know why they think so. To me it just doesn't make sense. Rock/band can be either way, punk and gentleman way. I like them both though. But this concert is to change people's view.
